We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. Personal information is information that can be used to establish your identity. This includes information such as your real name, mailing address or your telephone number.
The use of this app is usually possible without providing personal information. To the extent personal data are collected, this is done, as far as possible, always on a voluntary basis. These data will not be disclosed to third parties without your explicit consent.
Please note that data transmission over the Internet (for example, when communicating via e-mail) may have security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data from access by third parties is not possible.
Access data/server log files
The data processed by this app come from a web server. This server is operated in Germany and is fully subject to the strict German data protection regulations.
Every access to this server is automatically logged (so-called server log files). The access data that are logged include:
- Name of the retrieved file(s) or date(s)
- Date and time of retrieval
- Transferred amount of data
- Report on successful retrieval
- IP address (anonymized)
- The requesting provider
This log data is stored for a maximum of 14 days and then deleted.
When you install apps through the Apple App Store, the following data are automatically logged:
- Device designation
- Operating system version of the device
- Country of the user
The log data is only used for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, security and optimization of the offer.
These data cannot be linked to specific persons. A merge of this data with other data sources will not be done.
However, we reserve the right to retrospectively check the log data if, on the basis of concrete evidence, the legitimate suspicion of unlawful use exists.
Permissions of the app
This app requires the following permissions that are displayed to the user during the installation.
- Full Network Access: Needed to retrieve the data from the web server.
- Location: Needed to report illegal garbage dumping and to display your own location on a map. Other than that, your location will neither be logged nor transmitted.
- Camera: Needed to take photos for reporting illegal garbage sites. Photos are only taken and transmitted if you explicitly do so.
Collection of personal data
When registering bulk waste or electronic waste pick-up or reporting an illegal waste site, personal data (such as name, address) may be collected. This data is neither stored in the app, nor transmitted directly. Only an e-mail will be created, which you then explicitly forward to the County Administration Kaiserslautern via your e-mail app.
SSL encryption
This app uses SSL (TLS) encryption for security and the protection of confidential contents. With SSL encryption, the data transmitted from the app to our server and from the server to the app cannot be read by third parties.
Contact
When making contact (for example by e-mail), data pertaining to the user are stored for the purpose of processing the request as well as for addressing follow-up questions. These data will not be shared without the consent of the user.
Integration of services and contents of third parties
It may happen that within this app third-party content, such as maps from Google Maps, are included. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as "third party provider") detect the IP address of the users. The IP address is therefore required for the presentation of this content. We endeavor to use only those content whose respective providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the content. However, we cannot prevent third party providers from saving the IP address e.g. for statistical purposes. To the extent we are aware of such use, we will inform users about it.
Revocation, changes, corrections and updates
You have the right, upon request, to obtain free information regarding your personal data that has been stored. In addition, you have the right to correct incorrect data, to blocking and deletion of your personal data, as far as there is no legal obligation to keep records.

- Photos/Media/Files: Needed to take photos for reporting illegal garbage. Photos are only taken and transmitted if you explicitly do so. This permission is required only up to and including Android version 4.3.1 (Jelly Bean). In newer versions of Android, this permission is no longer necessary.
- Disable Standby: Required to notify of a pending downtime.
- On Start hit Run: Needed to set the notification time.

Appointment reminder via push messages
In order to be reliably reminded of pending waste pick-up dates, a so-called push notification must be set up from the server to your respective end device (smartphone, tablet).
To set up this push notification, the following encrypted data is forwarded by the app to our server:
- The unique identifier of the respective installed app: Uninstalling the app on a device and reinstalling it will result in a new unique identifier. Even deleting the app data leads to a new unique identifier.
- The established waste pick-up dates (town, street) with the active waste types (residual waste, organic waste, paper waste, yellow sack) and the respective reminder times (days until/time).
- The time zone and the current time of the device.
- The Android version
These data cannot be linked to specific persons. A merge of this data with other data sources will not take place.
The data is deleted when you disable the appointment reminder in the app.
